Maryland legislators, fix partisan gerrymandering now!
Partisan Gerrymandering has disenfranchised thousands of Maryland voters and made it so residents of congressional districts are spread out and have little in common with one another. Politicians are choosing their voters and voters can't choose their politicians.
Even Martin O'Malley, who has admitted to rigging the maps in favor of the Dems after the 2010 census, has gone on record to saythat partisan gerrymandering is "a system that has wiped out diversity of opinions. A system that digs ideological trenches around incumbents — incumbents whose approval ratings, as a group, have hovered below 20% for nearly a decade."
Sign below to support our effort to end partisan gerrymandering in Maryland. Some of our solutions include: legislation to define congressional districts, legislation to establish an independent redistricting commission for Maryland and to support the gerrymandering cases currently before Supreme Court.
Gerrymandering is undemocratic. Ending it will help restore democracy.
